Ignatz Urbanec, 82, formerly of 935 Polk Lane, Cleveland, Wis., died Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 23, at Manitowoc Health Care Center. Private family services will be Friday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The Rev. Charles W. Mocco will officiate and burial will be in St. Casimir Church Cemetery, Northeim. Mr. Urbanec was born July 28, 1897, at Zilina Czechoslovakia, son of the late Andrew and Sophie Urbanec. He married Frances Manza Jan. 21, 1921, in Czechoslovakia. In 1927 he and his wife immigrated to the United States, settling in Manitowoc. He had been employed with ManitowocShipbuilding (sic), Inc. from 1927 to 1947 and was a dairy farmer from 1947 until his retirement in 1955. Mrs. Urbanec preceded him in death July 13, 1961. He was a member of Manitowoc CZBJ Lodge No. 115. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Irene Urbanec of Arlington Heights, Ill., a daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Michael Patrick of Cleveland, Wis., a sister, Mary in Czechoslovakia, 10 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. There will be no visitation.
