Lot Number:
Monument Installed on West End of Lot

William R. Sieracki, age 91, of 5118 Starwood Lane, Newton, died Thursday, July 12, 2007, at his residence. William was born April 13, 2007(sic), in Newton, son of the late Andrew and Anna (Mrotek) Sieracki. On Sept. 9, 1944, he married the former Evelyn Groelle in Manitowoc. William enjoyed building and became very good at repair work after he and Evelyn bought the Groelle homestead in the town of Newton. There, they raised their family along with potatoes and Registered Polled Hereford cattle. William took pride in the spring planting and the calving season. He also was a welder at the Burger Boat Company and later Manitowoc Shipbuilding, retiring in 1979. After retirement, William continued with farm projects and loved working the fields with his original tractors, some of which he restored and still exist on the farm. As William found he had more time on his hands, he and Evelyn developed a woodworking hobby, building furniture, bird feeders and other woodcrafts. Traveling to Colorado became a ritual, and William loved the southwest. After giving up farming, William was happiest getting on his Gator and driving through the fields to see what was planted and how it was growing. (Survivors omitted for privacy.) William was preceded in death by seven brothers: John, Henry, Sylvester, Edward, Alex, Max and Daniel Sieracki; and two sisters: Gusti Glisch and Blanch Hein. The family will greet relatives and friends from 3 p.m. until the time of service at 5 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2007, at the Pfeffer Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2007, at the Pfeffer Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Deacon Paul Kieffer. William will be laid to rest at St. Casmir Cemetery, Northeim, following cremation. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff and volunteers at Holy Family Memorial Hospice and Home Health Care for their care and compassion shown toward Bill and his family. The Pfeffer Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
