Donald E. Schoerer, 43, of 4815 County Highway CR, Manitowoc, died Thursday at University Hospital, Madison, following a lengthy illness. He was born May 5, 1942, in Newton, a son of Bernard and Lorena Schnell Schwoerer. He graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School in 1960. Mr. Schwoerer served in the Vietnam War in 1965 and 1966. On May 20, 1967, he married Kathy Schroeder in Manitowoc. He was employed at Northeast Asphalt Co. (Survivors omitted for privacy.) Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Casimir Catholic Church, Northeim. The Rev. Charles Mocco will officiate. His body will be cremated. Friends may call at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of services Saturday. There will be no Friday visitation at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Memorial services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Casimir Catholic Church, Northeim. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Charles Mocco. Cremation will have taken place. Mr. Schwoerer was born May 5, 1942, at Newton, Wisconsin, son of Bernard and Lorena Schnell Schwoerer. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the Class of 1960. Mr. Schwoerer served in the United States Army in Vietnam during 1965 and 1966. He married the former Kathy A. Schroeder on May 20, 1967, at Manitowoc. After their marriage the couple resided in Milwaukee for two years prior to moving to their present address. Mr. Schwoerer was employed by Northeast Asphalt Company and was a member of the Laborers Union 1086. Survivors include his wife, Kathy; a son, Dean at home; a daughter, Sandra at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Schwoerer of Kiel; a brother and sister- in-law, Dennis and Carol Schwoerer of Newton; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Dorothy Tobin of Chilton and Denise and Michael Bittner of Newton, and his mother- in-law, Mrs. Clara Schroeder of Manitowoc, and nieces and nephews. The family will greet friends at the church from 11 a.m. Saturday until the time of services. There will be no Friday evening visitation.
