Katheryn A. "Kathy" Schwoerer, age 68, of Manitowoc, died Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Rivers Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc. Kathy was born April 23, 1944 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Ernest and Clara (Stransky) Schroeder. She was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, Class of 1962. On May 20, 1967 she married Donald E. Schwoerer. He preceded her in death on May 23, 1985. Kathy and her husband resided in Clover for many years. She worked as an office supervisor and tax preparer for H&R Block for over 20 years. (Survivors omitted for privacy.) She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 14, 2012 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community, Newton. Officiating at the services will be the Rev. David Zimmerman. Cremation has taken place and her remains will be laid to rest at St. Casimir Cemetery, Northeim. The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community on Thursday, June 14, 2012 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc is assiting the Schwoerer family with funeral arrangements. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staffs of Rivers Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center and Holy Family Memorial Medical Center for the care and compassion shown to Kathy and her family.
