SECTION MAN DIES SUNDAY AT HOSPITAL Concussion Cause of Death Nordheim Man Here Joseph Siuda, section laborer who was struck Saturday morning by the 8:08 Southbound passenger train on the Chicago & North Western, died Sunday morning at 2:30 without regaining consciousness. Death was due to concussion of the brain. The body was taken to the Pfeffer undertaking parlor where it was prepared for burial and was later taken to the home at Nordheim. The funeral will be held tomorrow morning at 9 o’clock with service at St. Casimir’s Catholic church. Was Never Conscious Siuda was at work at the Calumet yards here and was tightening up a bolt on the main line track when he was struck. Whether he failed to note the approach of the train or waited too long to get out of the way will never be known as he was unconscious when picked up and never came to. He was rushed to the hospital where the report was that he had suffered a broken collar bone and bruises but was not believed to have been seriously hurt. The blow and fall had rendered him unconscious, however, and he failed to regain consciousness, and death came at 2:30 Sunday morning. Was 56 Years Old The deceased was 56 years old, having been born in Poland February 6, 1867. He came to this country as a youth and settled at Chicago, where he was married to Nellie Konia, the widow, who with one daughter, survives him. About eight years ago he took up his home at Nordheim and for about five years he has at odd times been employed by the railway company in various capacities as warehouseman ___ and section laborer and had been working on the section since last May. He was a trustee of St. Casimir’s congregation and held the position of secretary.
