Mr. Leander J. (Schamy) Scharenbroch, 72, of 858 Linden Street, Cleveland, Wisconsin, died Monday afternoon, November 26, at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 9:45 a.m. Thursday at Parkside Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and 10:30 a.m. at St. Wendel Catholic Church, Cleveland. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Bernard Geimer and burial will be in St. Casimir's Cemetery, Northeim, Wisconsin. Mr. Scharenbroch was born October 8, 1912, at Cleveland, Wisconsin, son of the late Peter and Theresa Jackel Scharenbroch. He was an employee of R.P. Jost Company in Cleveland and then he also was employed later at R.P. Honold Plumbing Company in Sheboygan and finally he retired as Chief Engineer from St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan after 17 years of employment. Mr. Scharenbroch was a member of St. Wendel Catholic Church, Cleveland, and the Southeastern Wisconsin Hospital Engineers Association. Survivors include his wife, Harriet; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Jim Dhein of Cedarburg, Wisconsin, and Monica and Jim Sims of Green Bay; a sister, Beatrice Steinbruecker of Sheboygan; a grandson, six granddaughters, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Friends may call at Parkside Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday where a prayer service will be at 8 p.m. led by Father Geimer.
