PIONEER OF NEWTON DIES AT HOME SUNDAY Mrs. Mary Muchowske, 79, widow of the late Barthel Muchowske and a resident of the county for over half a century, passed away Sunday at the home in the town of Newton, a few miles south of the city. Funeral services will be held from the home Wednesday morning at nine, and at 9:30 from the St. Casimer’s Catholic church at Nordheim. The deceased whose maiden name was Mary Stefaniak, was born in Germany and came to this country at an early age locating first at Chicago. She was married sixty years ago to Mr. Muchowske, and a few years later, they located on the homestead in Newton. Mr. Muchowske passed away several years ago. A family of five daughters and four sons survive. They are Mrs. Anton Simmet, John, Mrs. John Engelbrecht, and Mrs. Elmer Ross, all of this city, Matt, Frank, Mary, Joseph and Rose of Newton. One sister, Mrs. Paul Mrotek of this city and two brothers, Joseph of Newton and Frank of Milwaukee also survive. The remains were removed to the homestead in Newton this afternoon from the Leschke funeral home. The deceased was a resident of the county for over fifty years and was 79 years of age. A family of five daughters and four sons, survive.
