Ben Rathsack, 69, Route 1, Manitowoc, passed away Wednesday evening at Maple Crest Sanitarium, Whitelaw, where he had been a patient since August 18. He was born June 9, 1897 at Milwaukee and married Anna Watzka May 1, 1923 at Pine Grove. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Alvin, Appleton; Donald and Joseph, Manitowoc; three daughters, Mrs. Melvin Landt, Mishicot; Mrs Joseph Rader, Osman and Mfrs. John Schneider, Manitowoc; a brother, Leo, Manitowoc; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Reindl, Eagle Rock, Calif.; Mrs. Oscar Hamilton, Los Angeles and 18 grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday at St. Casimir Catholic Church, Northeim and burial in the church cemetery. Ben Rathsack, 69, of Rt. 3, Manitowoc, died Wednesday evening at Maple Crest Sanatorium, Whitelaw, where he had been a patient since Aug. 18.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Casimir Catholic Church, Northeim. The Rev. Robert Berg will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Rathsack was born June 9, 1897, at Milwaukee, son of the late Joseph and Antoinette Piatrouski Rathsack. He came to Manitowoc County as a child with his parents. He was a veteran of World War I, and had been a watchman at Mirro Aluminum Co. until retiring in 1962. He was a member of the Holy Name Society. He married Anna Watzka May 1, 1923, at Pine Grove.

She survives with three sons, Alvin, of Appleton and Donald and Joseph, o fManitowoc; three daughters, Mrs. Melvin Landlt, of Mishicot, Mrs. Joseph Rader, of Osman and Mrs. John Schneider, of Manitowoc; a brother Leo, of Manitowoc; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Reindl, of Eagle Rock, California, and Mrs. Oscar Hamilton, of Los Angeles and 10 grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Friday where at 8:30p.m. the Rosary will be recited.
