Ann Patrick, age 80, of 1518 S. 37th St., Manitowoc, died on Sunday April 3, 2005 in the loving arms of her children at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community, 8100 Brunner Road, Newton. The Rev. David Beaudry will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial to follow at St. Casimir's Cemetery, Newton. The former Ann Urbanec was born May 10, 1924 at Zilina, Czechoslovakia, daughter of the late Ignatz and Frances Manga Urbanec. Ann came to the United States with her parents and two brothers when she was three years old. Ann was a graduate of Manitowoc's Lincoln High School in 1942. On Aug. 12, 1944, Ann was married to Michael Patrick at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manitowoc. The couple celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in 1999. Michael preceded her in death on Feb. 5, 2000. Mike and Ann worked side by side on their farm for 30 years. Ann had a great love for gardening. In addition to all the farm work she made time for her love of flowers. Ann's specialty was roses. When she retired from farming Mike and Ann purchased a home in Cleveland. In no time at all her roses were there along with many beautiful flowers. Her children would describe her as their friend, confidant and best supporter. She was what made us a family and kept us together. She gave her children unconditional love and a childhood worth remembering. As an avid reader, Ann was well versed in so many subjects; it was a pleasure to visit with her. However, she was always willing to listen to your problems and had that special antidote to make you feel better. She will be greatly missed by all those who came in contact with her. Survivors include: three daughters and two sons-in-law: Michele (Richard) Hallwachs; Margie (Mathew) Meyer; Theresa Patrick; one son and daughter-in-law: Jim (Sheryl) Patrick, all of Manitowoc; seven grandchildren: Mike (Bonnie) Hallwachs, Frances Patrick, Jesse (Nichole) Patrick, Casey Patrick, Katie (Nate) Walkner, Joe (Belinda) Buchholz and Annie Buchholz; three step-grandsons: Levi (Natasha) Dinkla, Jess and Luke Dinkla; nine great grandchildren: Josh, Devon, Jensen, Kaeden, Matthew, Sophia, Chloe, Marissa and Mikayla; one brother and sister-in-law: Steve (Irene) Urbanec of Arlington Heights, Ill.; nieces and nephews include: Steve, Mike, Robert and John Urbanec, Patricia Fly and Jean Schruber; a special friend: Alvina Kalcik. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one infant brother, Joseph. Relatives and friends may call at St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Community on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc is serving the family.
